lote that the Governor of Hong Kong is unable to offer an nitial salary of more than £600 per annum for the post of

uperintendent of the Botanical and Forestry Department.

I regret that I am unable to accept the appointment at is salary and that I must therefore withdraw my name as a ndidate for the post.
